The Next Book

I have received a very welcome email from Whiskey Creek Torrid’s senior editor to say they have accepted book number 4 in the Long Livery series. There will be a small celebration with my writing friends and then I will carry on with the task of writing book number 5.

All these books will be published under the umbrella title of The Erotic Tales of Long Livery Hall, and each will have a volume title:

Book number 1: LUST.  To be published in May
Book number 2: SCANDAL. To be published in July
Book number 3: BANISHED. To be published in September
Book number 4: WICKEDNESS

Book number 5 will be titled SEDUCTION, for the simple reason that seduction is the main theme of the story. In this tale, Long Livery Hall has a new owner, a wealthy American called Randolph Penrice. He has made a fortune in the California goldfields and now he has returned to Cornwall because that is where his ancestors once lived. However, he is a single man and he needs a wife to run his grand new home, a woman who knows how to behave in polite English society. In short, he is on the lookout for a suitable noblewoman to grace his bed and his home.

Can you see here echoes of what Jane Austen said? “It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife.” Well, she followed up with a good story that was totally bereft of any eroticism. SEDUCTION takes the matter a whole lot farther down the road of honest-to-goodness sex.

In my book, three young women have Randolph Penrice in their sights. This being an erotic story, they all seduce him into their beds and demonstrate their sexual skills in an effort to lure him into marriage. Which one will he choose? Well, I know the answer to that question, but I have a lot of writing to complete before the story gets to a reader. I presently have ten thousand words on my computer and many more inside my head, struggling to get out. It will be a few months before you have a chance to find out who Randolph chooses as the future mistress of Long Livery. Then you will discover the surprise that waits in store for Randolph before he makes that choice.
